Improving the WiTricity Wiki article with a full rewrite
Challenge
The WiTricity article had been flagged by Wikipedia for having multiple issues, and did not accurately represent the company. At that time, the page was unduly negative, and framed past iterations of its business as a failure, instead of a phase and part of their history. WiTricity sought a more neutral overview, adding more information about current activities and providing a balanced account of their history.
Solution
Beutler Ink collaborated with WiTriCity to propose a rewrite of the entire article, ensuring it reflects a balanced perspective and meets Wikipedia’s quality standards, which was accepted by Wikipedia editors.

Our Process
The WiTricity article was in poor shape and had been identified by Wikipedia editors as having poor sources, a lack of neutrality, “synthesis“, and research issues, effectively requiring a full rewrite. Beutler Ink worked with WiTricity to produce a completely new version of the article, and partnered again for ongoing page maintenance. The article overhaul was incredibly successful, with nearly every edit request implemented. The rewrite resulted in a more balanced, up-to-date page that complied with Wikipedia’s quality standards. Once the English Wikipedia article was improved, Beutler Ink helped WiTricity with translations and updates to other language Wikipedias, including Polish, German, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean.

The previous introduction was disproportionately lengthy, and unfairly negative, but after Beutler Ink’s rewrite was implemented the introduction was a short, neutral summary of the company’s operations.
