Our new website and what’s new about it

Welcome to the new Beutler Ink website! Our last update was in 2022, and the one before that was in 2020, so you could say we’re right on schedule. But we don’t make these changes for the sake of change; we make changes because we are always evolving.

As a consulting company with multiple service offerings, Beutler Ink means different things to different clients. You might have worked with us to market a newly opened hotel, or to create a Wikipedia page, but probably not both. Presenting a coherent story across contexts has sometimes been a challenge.

Our original 2013 tagline, "We find your story and help you tell it," resonates across our services. But over the next few website versions, we moved away from it, emphasizing intended growth areas. (Do you remember the infographics era of the internet? We do, just barely.) The 2022 website brought us back to our roots, and our original tagline with it. These are still the first words you’ll read on our website today.

Still, the 2022 website had its drawbacks. Chief among them: too many choices for a potential client visiting us for the first time. The main page was organized conceptually, according to three stages of a brand’s life cycle, listing 15 separate deliverables under them, making it unclear where to start or what to expect when working with us.

For the 2024 update, we understood what we had to do.

This year, we’ve rededicated ourselves to our most popular service—the thing we do better than anyone else, the thing we did before anyone else, the very thing the company was founded on—our Wikipedia consulting. The new version of the website moves Wikipedia from the third or fourth listed service to the first, reflecting what we’re best known for, and combines the remaining services under one umbrella.

The updated main page of the website now highlights two main practice areas: Wikipedia consulting and Brand Management, with just enough context to help guide your next click. Each practice area has its own dedicated page with detailed information about specific services.

On the Wikipedia side, we focus on improving existing articles, creating new ones, and monitoring for changes. Brand Management is subdivided into Digital Marketing and Branding & Design, listing relevant services offered under each, including social media, content creation, and web design.

The Wikipedia and Brand Management pages now incorporate case studies, including our first-ever detailed Wikipedia case studies. All client case studies are collected together on another page, and we’ve even split out a separate page for non-client projects we’re proud of, like our Annual Calendar.

Keep clicking around, and you’ll find we have now a detailed About Beutler Ink page and an About the Founder page, both firsts. We’ve been busy telling our clients’ stories, but now we’re sharing our own.

With past website updates that would be it for about two years. This time is different, and we’ll have something very exciting to announce in the near future.

Until then, we hope you enjoy the new site and find it easier to get around. If you have a question for us or want to inquire about any of those services we mentioned, please drop us a line!
