Recurring Developments
First created in advance of Arrested Development’s long-awaited fourth season and freshly updated for Season 5, Recurring Developments is an interactive visualization that guides you through the jokes in every episode of every season of the self-referential hit show.
The site is built for the Arrested Development fan community and an example of the value of fan-engaging assets—having became a successful marketing tool for our brand, setting benchmarks in three key areas:
Media—Since launching the viral site in 2013, we’ve received some impressive press pickup from outlets including BuzzFeed, BroBible, Entertainment Weekly, Gizmodo, Slate, Yahoo! News, and The Atlantic. It was also featured in The Telegraph’s end-of-year Internet roundup.
Audience engagement—People love trying to catch all the jokes. In fact, we’ve built such a following that we now have a dedicated group of volunteer joke finders, constantly challenging and adding to the site.
SEO—The site still ranks among the top Google searches for “Arrested Development jokes”, often beating out Rolling Stone, Buzzfeed, NPR, and even Netflix!
Our advice: If you don't have a banana stand, there’s always money in fan engagement.
