Expanding the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Wikipedia article
Challenge
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation was concerned that readers interested in learning about the foundation would go to Wikipedia, where their page was short, contained very little of the organization’s history, and was largely unsourced or outdated. They wanted to help create a robust article that comprehensively covered their extensive history.
Solution
Beutler Ink researched the foundation’s history and uncovered a wealth of top-tier sources to draw from. After picking the best news stories, academic case studies, and books available, we initiated a complete overhaul and expansion of the entire article. Working closely with the foundation’s communications team, we were able to draft and place an informative page that clearly shares the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s influence on public health over its 80-plus year history.

Our Process
Our strategy team reviewed available reliable sources and determined that a full page rewrite was possible, and could include significant expansion of content. Working closely with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, we developed a new article draft that highlighted the organization’s most significant projects and gave an accurate overview of its history, all while strictly adhering to Wikipedia’s rules on conflict of interest editing and neutral point of view. Within six months, we’d achieved a complete overhaul by collaborating with volunteer editors on Wikipedia to review and implement the rewrite as proposed by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation team on the article’s Talk page.
